The Challenge
Susan and Mark wanted to replace their old, sagging wood dock using materials that would last for many years to come. In addition, given the jagged curve of the waterfront and over-water extension limits from the HOA, a creative design would have to be used to satisfy all the aesthetic and regulatory requirements.

In addition, given the jagged curve of the waterfront and over-water extension limits from the HOA, a creative design would have to be used to satisfy all the aesthetic and regulatory requirements.

After using the appropriate tools and equipment to get the curvature of the waterfront, our team at HBC decks designed a simple, but elegant dock that would meet the HOA extension requirements on the front side of the dock. In addition, to create a sophisticated appeal that would pop, but also match the natural earth tones of the surrounding environment, we recommended using the Trex Transcend line of decking (formerly Trex Tropicals and Earth Tones) with two different colors: Island Mist for a shaded border that would contrast very well with the lighter shade of Rope Swing for the deck field.
