Rick and Liz wanted the elegance and sophistication in a backyard poolside deck that their recently renewed saline pool with calming waterfalls called for. In addition to wanting it to fit the overall backyard style, they needed a structurally sound and reinforced substructure that would support their beautiful Kozyard 12’ x 20’ gazebo.

Rick and Liz wanted the elegance and sophistication in a backyard poolside deck that their recently renewed saline pool with calming waterfalls called for. In addition to wanting it to fit the overall backyard style, they needed a structurally sound and reinforced substructure that would support their beautiful Kozyard 12’ x 20’ gazebo.

Together with Rick’s creative and engineering skills, HBC Decks designed a substructure sufficient to meet the load requirements for the gazebo, while providing a geometric appeal of a custom-shaped deck that perfectly fit their backyard. The combination of Trex Transcend Lineage Biscayne and Rainier colors matched the earthtones of the surrounding rocks behind but also blended in well with the pristine blue waters of the saline pool.

From there, we used our Soft Plan system to create a sufficient foundation for both the deck boards and the aluminum gazebo. After reviewing Rick and Liz’s preferred color tastes, we recommended Rainier and Biscayne to combine the overall elements in their existing backyard oasis. Being the “hands-on” go-getters that Rick and Liz are, they took on the gazebo installation themselves after we had carefully crafted the deck for them and the outcome was incredible (although Rick and Liz later admitted that next time, they will hire HBC Decks to assemble and install the gazebo as it left them with, well, let’s just say memories they will never forget.
